St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace (Terrace), is a Catholic Day School for young men from Years 5 to 12, founded by the Christian Brothers. Terrace is one of the nine Great Public Schools (GPS) in Queensland and, founded in 1875, is among the oldest. Our College has a long and rich history that spans more than 143 years in the tradition of the Christian Brothers and their founder, Blessed Edmund Rice.

Today the College is governed by Edmund Rice Education Australia and is proud of the thousands of Terracians who have contributed significantly to both Church and civil life locally, nationally and globally throughout our history. Our College motto, Servire Deo Sapere or ‘To Serve God is to be Wise’ articulates our commitment to the formation of the ‘Terrace Gentleman’ to be a young man of faith and learning who will make a difference through knowledge, humility and wisdom.

The Gregory Terrace Foundation

The role of the Foundation is to nurture our culture of philanthropy amongst parents, Old Boys and friends of the College to raise financial support to fund various developments at St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace.

A spirit of philanthropy has not only been a significant part of Terrace’s history, it is at the heart of who we are. Ever since the College was established in 1875, Terrace boys have benefitted from a broad tapestry of support from throughout the College Family. Gifts enable us to prepare the College for a future that honours and values the past, embraces innovation and positions the Terrace Family as a leading centre of faith, formation and learning. The continued development of the College is dependent upon the Terrace Family’s understanding of, and participation in, the vision.

Every member of the Terrace community is invited to invest in the ongoing development of our College by contributing their own personal gift towards the area/s of their choice, either the Bursary Fund or Building Fund.

Gifts of all sizes are greatly appreciated as they make a difference in the lives of Terrace Gentlemen.

The Bursary Fund

The fund provides the wider Terrace Family with the opportunity to contribute a gift in support of this financial needs-based bursary. The College Bursary Fund currently fully funds 21 students who would not otherwise be able to receive a Terrace education.

The Building Fund

This fund affords the wider Terrace community the opportunity to support the acquisition, construction and maintenance of buildings on the three campuses: Spring Hill including Waterford Place, Tennyson Playing Fields, and Maroon Outdoor Education Centre.

Bequests

A bequest made in your Will, no matter the size, is an opportunity to invest in the future of Terrace. It will make a difference in young men’s lives, and enable you to leave a legacy of compassion and care that will live on for many years to come. A bequest can be made in a variety of ways – property, a fixed monetary sum, shares or bonds, insurance policy or a percentage of an estate.
