Wesley College Melbourne, Registered School No 1, is a coeducational, open-entry school of the Uniting Church with a rich tradition on which to base its liberal, broadly based curriculum. Opened on 18 January 1866, Wesley has enriched the lives of thousands of young people in its history. In 2016, the College celebrates its Sesquicentenary – 150 years of outstanding educational opportunities.
Curriculum
Wesley College is one of the top International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in Australia, offering the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. Students from all backgrounds, countries, religions and cultures study at Wesley because of our excellent educational reputation, facilities and student support. Graduating students move on with much more than an ATAR score, each has been encouraged to aspire to achieve excellence and personal best in all areas of endeavour. Many graduates continue their studies at major Australian universities and others around the world.
Our comprehensive coeducational program promotes not only excellent academic results, but has a concentrated focus on the arts, sport, outdoor education and community. A balanced approach to learning, a concern for the whole student, and a rich variety of opportunities are offered within an innovative and caring environment. Programs allow for individual learning and enable students to reach their potential in a challenging and positive manner. Individual needs are supported through a range of extension and enrichment programs.

Foundation
The Wesley College Foundation encourages philanthropic support to assist the College with a variety of programs that benefit current and future students. With the completion of the Moubray Street Precinct Redevelopment which includes a stunning new Music School, the Foundation has launched its new capital campaign to raise $4m for the new boarding facility – Learning in Residence that will open in late 2016. Additionally, we plan to redevelop and extend the Boathouse and will be seeking support for this exciting project later in 2015.
The Foundation also seeks gifts for the College Scholarships Program to increase the number of scholarships available for worthy students who would otherwise not be able to attend Wesley. Another very significant area of activity is our bequest group The Sapere Aude Bequest Society which has more than 170 members and is vital in helping to secure Wesley’s long term future. A bequest in your Will is a very effective way of “giving back” and leaving your mark at Wesley College.
