Established in 1875, Presbyterian Ladies’ College Melbourne (PLC) has a proud tradition of educating and empowering women of character who will change the world for good. PLC is a leading independent Christian school for girls, offering both day and boarding education from Early Learning through to Year 12.
For 150 years, PLC has nurtured generations of girls within a caring and aspirational environment where academic excellence is balanced with personal growth. Students are encouraged to think deeply, embrace challenges and develop confidence as they grow academically, socially, creatively, physically and spiritually.
A PLC education brings together a strong academic program with exceptional facilities and a rich range of co-curricular opportunities. Beyond the classroom, girls are encouraged to explore their interests, discover their strengths and develop the skills and resilience needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
At the heart of PLC is a values-driven Christian community. Guided by integrity, empathy, courage, delight and service, students learn what it means to lead with purpose and compassion. These values shape not only how girls learn, but who they become.
Every student’s journey at PLC is intentionally personal. Through a broad and flexible curriculum and tailored learning pathways, each girl is supported to pursue her passions, build self-belief and develop a lifelong love of learning.
The PLC Foundation
Since 1990, the PLC Foundation has played a vital role in shaping the future of the College. Through the generosity of donors, the Foundation supports the development of modern, purpose-built learning and sporting facilities that enhance opportunities for every student.
Led by a passionate community of more than 500 members, the Foundation champions opportunity, innovation, leadership and learning – ensuring PLC continues to progress for generations to come.
The Gift of a PLC Education
One of the most powerful ways to support PLC is through needs-based scholarships for deserving young women from Year 7 to Year 12.
PLC offers Academic, Music, General Excellence, Boarding, Means-tested and Old Collegian scholarships for girls entering Years 7 to 11.
A PLC scholarship offers more than academic opportunity. It provides access to a rich, holistic education encompassing academics, the arts, sport, leadership and service. The impact extends well beyond the individual student, creating ongoing positive change for families, communities and future generations.
A Lasting Legacy
Through a bequest, you can leave a lasting imprint on PLC, shaping the lives of young women and strengthening our legacy for generations to come. Bequestors become part of our ‘Vitae Circle’, a community of remarkable individuals united by their belief in the future of PLC.
