At Griffith University, we know success often comes from being an exception to the norm—challenging convention, adapting, and innovating, creating bold new trends and pioneering solutions. We’re led by our values, with our teaching and research committed to social impact and innovation to create a brighter future for all.

Since our inception in 1975, the principles upon which Griffith was founded have remained relevant; everything we do, from teaching and research to community engagement, is still designed to make the world a better place—for everyone. As we look to the future, we’re about more than just making it; we’re about making it matter.

Griffith is a comprehensive, research-intensive university, ranking in the top two per cent of universities worldwide. Our multi-disciplinary teaching and research spans across six campuses in South-East Queensland, while our network of more than 250,000 graduates extends around the world. As we approach our 50th anniversary in 2025, we remain steadfast in our aim to be a leading university of influence and impact in Australia and across the Asia–Pacific.

Research for Impact

Griffith’s world-class researchers are at the forefront of discovery. Working in our state-of-the-art centres, institutes and schools, Griffith researchers are driven by a need to make a difference in the world and change lives for the better.

As one of Australia’s leading research universities, our strengths lie across a broad spectrum of areas, from chronic diseases to criminology and Asian politics to the arts.

We’re committed to tackling real challenges and our research speaks to our commitment to being a leading university of influence and impact in Australia and across the Asia–Pacific.

Scholarships for a Brighter Future

We have more than 600 scholarships that help make university a reality for a variety of new and continuing students. We award scholarships for all sorts of reasons based on background, chosen study area, hardships students may have experienced or their achievements so far.

The Griffith Brighter Futures Scholarships are a strong demonstration of the commitment to  make learning accessible for all. We want our students to fulfil their potential, overcome any barriers to studying and to take full advantage of the formative experience a university education permits.  The Brighter Futures Scholarships award $5,000 over two instalments to assist students in reaching their goals.

Applying for our scholarships is free and simple and students can apply for multiple scholarships with just one application.

Griffith stands ready to educate students who are committed to learning, regardless of their background, enabling them to face the future and thrive in a rapidly changing world. We embrace support from all areas: one-off donations to regular giving, pledges, endowments, scholarships and more. We welcome the opportunity to discuss partnerships and working together to innovate and accelerate limitless positive change.
