St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School, situated high on a hill in beautiful leafy Ascot, in Brisbane northern suburbs, is an independent day and boarding school for girls from Pre-Prep to Year 12. We also welcome boys in Pre-Prep and Prep.
There are approximately 1000 students in the school, with around 320 primary students and 680 girls in the secondary school. St Margaret’s has a long and proud boarding history and around 170 boarders from Years 5 to 12 are accommodated in the boarding house, which is in the very heart of the Ascot campus.
St Margaret’s is well known for its focus on academic excellence, quality learning and teaching, and its commitment to pastoral care. Its smaller size is its greatest strength, with a true focus on each individual child and personalised learning.

St Margaret’s Foundation
Established in 2004, St Margaret’s Foundation is the organisation through which financial support for the School is directed.
Ensuring all our students have access to leading educational facilities and that the history of the school is preserved for future generations to enjoy is a significant responsibility. St Margaret’s Foundation brings together a committed group of individuals passionate about St Margaret’s, its future and its students’ futures. St Margaret’s fees cover the ongoing operational costs of the school, but to maintain and enhance an excellent standard of education for girls, while also keeping fees accessible to as many families as possible, we rely on the generosity of our wider community.
Support given through donations is directed to the School through any of the Foundation’s fundraising programs including Annual/Regular Giving, Capital Campaigns and Major Gifts. Donations can be directed to the:
- Building Fund,
- Scholarships & Bursary Program (Scholarship Fund),
- Endowment Fund;
or made as a Bequest (The Eton Society).
Giving
Building Fund
Building projects are vital components of enhancing the learning experiences of our students at St Margaret’s and will help the school in fulfilling its mission to prepare confident and capable women able to contribute to a global community.
Funds donated, through Annual/Regular Giving and Capital Campaigns, enhance the education of every girl. Donations to the Building Fund are currently assisting the school in delivering a new Sports Precinct, an excellent facility that will enhance the health and physical education for all and allow St Margaret’s students to achieve their personal best in all endeavours.
Scholarship & Bursary Program (Scholarship Fund)
Funds donated, through Annual/Regular Giving, to the Scholarship Fund are used each year to offer students from diverse backgrounds, including regional, rural and indigenous students, the opportunity to secure a St Margaret’s education or to support current students whose families may be experiencing circumstances which would otherwise prevent them from completing their education at St Margaret’s. In keeping with the school’s mission and values, and the legacy of the Sisters of the Society of the Sacred Advent, we are committed to assisting families who need financial assistance and we encourage you to partner with us through donating to this important cause.

Endowment Fund
In 2012, The St Margaret’s Foundation received a modest donation to establish an Endowment Fund – it was a symbol of faith in the future of St Margaret’s and the important role it has in educating young women. The purpose of the fund is to invest and build on the capital, so that ultimately the interest earned on the investment can be used to further the educational offerings to St Margaret’s students. The long-term goal of this fund is to supply money in perpetuity, which can be used to support a variety of St Margaret’s projects.
Contributions to the Endowment Fund are not tax deductible, but are very much a gift that keeps on giving to the community year after year. While we are still in the early days of establishing this fund and sufficient money will not generated to assist St Margaret’s for a little while yet, it has been important to start this process and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the school. Contributions will leave a legacy for future St Margaret’s students and will be greatly appreciated.
Bequests
Launched in 2015, the Eton Society honours those people who have made a bequest or are considering making a bequest to the St Margaret’s Foundation in their Will. The society meets annually to acknowledge the generous intentions of its members and to keep them abreast of plans for the school. Joining the Eton Society is about the spirit of intention, and about participation to help build a program which will honour the legacy of the Sisters and contribute to the education of girls for many years to come.
